ONLINE SUPPORT TRAINING SERVICES FOR INDIVIDUALS WITH SPECIAL NEEDS AND THEIR MOTHERS DURING COVID-19

Objective

Covid-19 has profoundly affected the way each person individually lives since March 11, 2020, when the first case was seen in our country, leading to changes in daily routines and lifestyle. One of the groups affected by this situation has been individuals with special needs and their families. With Covid-19 entering our lives, individuals with special needs lost their already very limited social environment and were enclosed to their homes, turned to eating more, and began to spend most of their time watching television and sitting. The environment, restricted in terms of social stimuli, reduced their motivation to such a level that they could not even fulfill their daily life skills. Individuals with intellectual disabilities who live their lives at home and whose social circles are stuck in a narrow space are also at risk of losing their existing skills. This sedentary lifestyle has begun to threaten their psychological health as well as their physical health in general.
In the family, it is possible to say that mothers are more affected by this process.
